Jeanette Mae Sersland, 75, of Grand Forks, passed away April 1, 2008, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Jeanette was born on May 29, 1932, to Andrew and Emma (Bye) Larson in Oslo, MN, where she grew up and attended school. Jeanette married Conrad Sersland in 1948. Together they owned and operated several restaurants in the area, including Oslo, Minto, East Grand Forks, Minot, and the Palace and Jeannie's in Grand Forks. They owned and operated Jeannie's for 27 years before retiring in 2007. Overall, they had 52 years in the restaurant business. Jeanette enjoyed bowling, bingo, crafts, and people. She was a member of the Minot Women's Auxiliary for numerous years. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Conrad of Grand Forks; children, Jerry (Kris Nelson) Sersland of Grand Forks, Donna (Gary Nelson) Kline, Elaine Olson of Devils Lake, Conrad Jr. (Debbie) Sersland of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jeanette Darling of Devils Lake, Jodi Olson of Devils Lake, Clint Olson of Minot, C.C. Sersland of Tennessee, Heather Sersland of Virginia, D.C., Jimmy Sersland of North Carolina, Michael Sersland of North Carolina; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Art (Donna) Larson of Bagley, MN, and special friend Curtis Wilcox. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 children Connie Rae Sersland and Jeannie Sersland, granddaughter Christine Whiting, and great-grandson, Conrad Whiting Jr. FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, Friday, April 4, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour prior to the funeral service at Amundson's. INTERMENT: (Spring 2008) Oslo Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
