Kenneth M. Pahlen, 60, of Grand Forks, ND died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital, Minneapolis, MN. Kenneth Michael Pahlen was born July 5, 1947 in Crookston, MN the son of Jacob and Mary (Stroot) Pahlen. He grew up and attended country school in Brandt Township near Euclid, MN. He then attended school in Warren, MN for three years before going to Crookston and graduating from the Northwest School of Agriculture. Kenneth joined the United States Marine Corp in 1966 and served in the Vietnam War and was awarded three purple hearts during his service. Upon being honorably discharged he returned to Euclid and worked for Vigen Construction for a few years. He married Leslie Pincombe ? Moody in 1982 in Crookston, MN and they made their home in Grand Forks. Kenneth worked for the North Dakota Mill and Elevator where he was employed for 35 years and had just retired as the Maintenance Supervisor. During Kenneth's time at the Mill he also served many years as the Union President. During Kenneth's free time he enjoyed working on the family farm near Euclid, MN, and collecting farm toys. Grand Forks Cheri Denault ? Grand Forks Dail Renee Hassler ? Fargo Brothers: Bill (Lois) Pahlen ? Euclid Dan (Judy) Pahlen ? Warren Jerry (Julie) Pahlen ? Roseau Mark (Maria) Pahlen ? Roseau Sisters: Joyce (Walt) Christensen ? Crookston Kathy (Skip) Cormican ? Washington Lois (Jim) Chandler ? Crookston Carol (Neil) Parkin ? Euclid Margaret (Chuck) Huston ? Crookston Mary Kay (Chris) Plante ? Crookston Kenneth was from a very large, close and loving family that included twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Jake, a niece Lisa Weiland and his god parents Irene and Lee. BURIAL WILL TAKE PLACE IN MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY - SPRING 2008
