Stuart Lundberg

October 8, 1932 — July 13, 2008

Stuart was born on October 8, 1932, in Grafton, ND, the son of Selmer and Ida (Arneson) Lundberg. Stuart grew up and graduated from Grafton High School in 1950. In 1954, he graduated from UND in with a BSC in Accounting. In 1961, he graduated with a Law Degree. In 1964, he received a Master of Accountancy from UND. In 1981, he received a LLM from the University of Denver. Stuart enlisted in the US Navy to attend Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as Ensign in the Naval Supply Corps in 1955. He served in the US Navy for a total of three year with his longest assignment being aboard the destroyer, USS Wedderburn. He attended several reunions with shipmates who served on the USS Wedderburn. On release from active duty as a Lieutenant Junior grade in 1957, he returned to ND and the University. Stuart achieved designation as Certified Public Accountant. Stuart taught at UND and retired in 1994 after 33 years of service. Stuart married Marilyn Gorter on August 19, 1961. Stuart enjoyed restoring old Corvettes. He was also a member of the South Forks Lions Club and Calvary Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Scott Lundberg of NY, William Lundberg of Minneapolis, Mark Lundberg of Grand Forks; brothers, Lowell (Marlys) Lundberg of Fargo, Loren (Priscilla) Lundberg of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Lyn (Dale) Webb of Yuma, AZ; sister-in-law, Beth Bank of Grand Forks, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. ***In lieu of flowers, memorials can be suggested to UND Accounting Dept.
