Mildred Boese Nelson

Mildred (Milllie) Boese Nelson, 85, Grand Forks, ND died Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Mildred Bakken was born August 4, 1922 in Reynolds, ND the daughter of Gilbert and Clara (Sollum) Bakken. She was raised and educated in both Reynolds and Grand Forks. Besides raising a family of five children, Millie spent most of her working years (1967 ? 1994) as a custodian/ matron at the Red River High School. Her 53 year marriage to Donald Martin Boese, Sr. began on August 5, 1939 in Grand Forks. Don died January 10, 1992. Much to her surprise and delight, she found new happiness with Charles "C.K." Nelson, whom she wed on December 25, 1993. Charlie died January 18, 2001. Millie's greatest sorrow was the death of her oldest son, John (Jack) Gilbert Boese. She is also preceded in death by brothers Clifford, Ole, Sanford and Norman and sister Lorraine as well as two infant siblings. Survivors include sons, Tyrone (Rhonda) Boese, Minneapolis, MN; Donald Boese, Jr., Grand Forks, ND; daughter-in-law Carol Boese, Bemidji, MN; daughters, Roxanne (Roger) Stiles, Minneapolis, MN, and Allison Guadarrama, Pelican Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Brian, Teri, Dawn, Karen, Kelly, Darin, Shelly, Nathan, Keven, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Brianna, Adriana, Kasheena, Nakayla, Hunter and Miguel; also 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Molstad, Grand Forks, ND, Myrtle Valenzuela, San Diego, CA and RuJean Hughes of Wisconsin. Millie spent her entire life helping and serving others. The world has lost an angel ? and heaven has gained one.
