Neil Medley

Neil A. Medley, 89, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Neil Alfred Medley, the son of William MacDonald Medley and Eva (Carmer) Medley was born January 16, 1918 in Cotter, Arkansas. He grew up and attended school in Arkansas. Neil and Barbara Morris were married on May 18, 1940. He served in the US Army during World War II. After his discharge from the military, hey lived in California where Neil owned and operated a construction company. They later moved to the state of Washington. Neil was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers, and worked many construction projects including the Grand Coulee Dam. They moved to Grand Forks in 1963, and later lived at Thompson, North Dakota. After Neil retired he worked as a Project Manager during the construction of Parkwood Place in Grand Forks. Barbara Medley died October 18, 1997. Neil was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Grand Forks. Neil enjoyed fishing, loved playing and watching baseball, working in his yard, and woodworking projects. Neil is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Rod) Hadland, Grand Forks; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Drewcilla Brewer, Little Rock, Arkansas, Dixie Whittaker, Mountain Home, Arkansas; a brother, Rex (Lowanda) Medley, Springfield, Illinois; son-in-law, Duane Christenson, Grand Forks; daughter-in-law, Joyce Medley, Grand Forks. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Linda Christenson, a son Neil Medley, Jr., and 9 brothers and sisters.
