Roy K. Solberg, 90, of Reynolds, ND, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Aneta Parkview Home. Roy was born at Norway Township on August 3, 1917. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45. He was sent overseas to the European Theatre during WWII. He landed at Normandy and during his time there earned a purple heart and five bronze service stars. Roy married Delores Wold of Reynolds on February 11, 1947. Over the years he worked as a butcher, drycleaner, and a truck driver. Roy is survived by sons, John Solberg of Grand Forks, Steven (Lynn) Solberg of Grand Forks, Robert of Reynolds, ND; daughter, Mary (Hal) Galloway of Plymouth, MN, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Verna Slough of Ephrata, WA, Lorraine of Seattle, WA; brother, Oliver Solberg of Faribault, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores; brothers, Arvid, James, Elmer; sisters, Inga and Stella. MEMORIAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at the Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: the hour prior to the memorial service at Amundson's. INTERMENT: Americus Cemetery, Reynolds, ND.
