Sandra Bushaw

Sandra Mae Bushaw, age 61, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. After a courageous battle with cancer Sandy was unexpectedly taken from us by a sudden heart attack. Sandy was born December 28, 1945, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Arthur and Irene (Nyhus) Nelson. She married Thomas Bushaw on January 22, 1966, in Junction City, Kansas. Sandy was a graduate of Oslo High School. She worked in banking for 25 years. She was currently employed by Alerus Financial. She enjoyed hanging out with friends, whether it was playing bingo or bunco, going to the lake or maybe taking a casino trip. Her most precious times were being with her family, most importantly her grandsons. You could find her at a hockey game(or 2 or 3) every weekend. Sandy is survived by her daughters, Tamra (Troy) Srnsky, Warren, MN and Diane (Darwin) Lunski, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Zachary Srnsky, Branden and Trever Lunski; aunt and uncles, Gordon and Margie Rosinski and Sheldon Nyhus, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Irene Nelson. Sandy was a loving mother, grandmother, niece and a dear friend. She will be sadly missed by her family and many, many friends. Funeral Services: Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1405 9th St. S. in Grand Forks. Visitation: Wednesday, December 26, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. Visitation will continue at Calvary Lutheran Church the hour prior to the funeral service Thursday. Interment: Kongsvinger Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Oslo, ND
