Sarah Hansen

Sarah C. Hansen, 91, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Valley Eldercare of Grand Forks. Sarah Christine Hansen was born December 25, 1916, the first child of Jens and Christine (Jensen) Hansen at Stephen, MN. She attended the Whalen School District 94 in Sinnot Township, the Northwestern School at Crookston and Aakers Business College at Grand Forks. She worked at Nash Finch and Bridgeman Creamery, both in Grand Forks. Sarah was a charter member of the American Business Women's Association 10228. Sarah was an independent woman who loved to travel. Some of her memorable journeys include the Holy Land, China, Scandinavian countries, Germany, Alaska, and numerous trips throughout the United States and Canada. She was a gifted artist who enjoyed painting and rosemaling, and was a member of Nordland Rosemaling Association Hallingland of America #21. She was also a member of the Son's of Norway Lodge in Grand Forks, and United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Sarah will be missed by her sister Mabel Koser of Stephen, sister-in-law Georgette Hansen of Kuna, Idaho and her many friends and cousins including David and Penny Jensen of Stephen and Mrs. Lois Green of Willow River, MN. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Jens and Christine, two brothers Kenneth and Clifford, a sister Ruth Hansen, and brother-in-law Delbert Koser.
