Stanley Marlin Swenson, 71, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Thursday, December 27, 2007. Stanley was born on April 1, 1936 in Grand Forks to Joseph and Inga (Gilbertson) Swenson. He graduated from Grand Forks Central High School, then served in the Army. Stan married his high school sweetheart, Ann Danda on May 1, 1957 in Grand Forks. He graduated from the University of North Dakota. Stan was a store manager for many years with Valley Dairy. It was his goal to make each person's day a little brighter, so he greeted his customers with a smile. After he retired, he became a Jelly Belly vendor and spread samples and smiles. Stan was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a rock to his family. He appreciated all of the little blessings in life, such as a cup of coffee and cookies and watching television with his dog by his side. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and golfing. Stan's faith carried him through the tough times in life and will serve as an example to all those knew him. He is survived by his wife, Ann, daughters, Suzanne Swenson of St. Paul, and Jo Dee Ronan (Gary) of Jamestown, grandchildren, Justin, Amy, Andrew and Caitlin, great grandson Dontrell, brother Jim Swenson (Marcy) of Moorhead, MN, sisters-in-law Iris Swenson (Bud) of Fargo, and Dorene Swenson (Vernon) of Neenah, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Bud and Vernon, and a sister, Mildred (John) Cariveau.
