Stella Warne

Stella I. Warne, 86, of Grand Forks, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Stella was born on July 29, 1921, in Crary, ND, the daughter of Ambrose & Anna (Lambert) Mannie. She grew up and attended a country school near Lakota. Stella married Simon "Harold" Warne on December 23, 1941, in Larimore, ND. Stella was a homemaker and helped Harold on the farm with various duties. Harold died in 1990. Stella was a member of the West End Homemaker's Club, and helped with 4-H. She enjoyed gardening, craftwork, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was also active with the Our Savior's Church Ladies Aid. Stella is survived by her daughters; Judy (Dale) Haugejorden of Alexandria, MN, Linda (Richard) Duckstad of Thompson, ND; sister, Gladys Smith of Yakima, WA; daughter-in-law, Julia Warne; grandchildren, Sherry (Todd) Brown, Erica (Jim) Valenzuela, Melissa (Jose) Gonzalez, Heather Duckstad, Kari (Jason) Orender, Jody Warne; great-grandchildren, Jordan Valenzuela, Isabella Gonzalez, and Samantha Brown. She was preceded in death by husband; Harold; sons, Richard & Larry; 3 brothers and 2 sisters; and a great-grandson. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church 302 Booth Ave. Larimore, ND 58251. VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, Wednesday, April 30, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour prior to the funeral service at the church. INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, ND.
