Sybil I. McGill, 88, Grand Forks, ND, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 at her home after a long struggle with cancer. Sybil Irene Nunn was born April 13, 1919, the daughter of John D. and Josie(Burkett) Nunn in Tuttle, ND. She grew up and attended school in the Dawson, ND area. During World War II she worked as a riveter for the defense industry, working on war planes. In July of 1949 she married Merril Hoover and lived in several different cities in ND. He passed away in 1964. In November of 1969 she married William H. McGill and moved to Lebanon, Ohio where she lived until he passed away in 1992. At that time she moved back to ND and made her home in Grand Forks where she lived until her death Sybil loved working in her gardens, both flower and vegetable. Watching birds was one of her favorite activites. She always had pets including cats, dogs and ponies and loved to spoil them. She is survived by one sister, Jone Barnick of Grand Forks, ND, one brother, Delmar(Laura) Nunn,Dawson, ND, sister-in-law, Donna, North Mankato, MN as well as 14 nieces and nephews including Raenelle(Rick) Capes, Grand Forks, ND, and Blaine(Janie) Barnick, Lake Park, MN and 31 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lorraine(Alfred) Luetke, Anoma Nunn, Leora(Lee) Markham, Mardella Ferguson and brothers Clyde(Frieda), Cliff(Ethel),Dewey(Helen), Rolland(Donna) and Marlyn.
