Theonilla (Toni) K. Troumbly, 94, Grand Forks, and formerly Mankato, Minnesota, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at Woodside Village, 4000 Valley Square, where she had made her home for the past five years. Theonilla was born to Winnifred (Cadieux) and Edmund Troumbly in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota on October 10, 1913, and grew up in that community. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Library Science from Moorhead State University and was employed as a librarian at Washington Elementary School in Crookston. Theonilla received her Master of Science Degree in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1961 and began an 18-year employment with Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University at Mankato) as an academic librarian. She retired a Faculty Emeritus of Library Science in 1979. She was a faithful and long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Theonilla loved gardening and her yard bloomed with colorful flowers every summer. She was a fun loving and wonderful aunt, who loved her nieces and nephew as her own children. She gave them books at Christmas and shared her love of children's literature with them. Due to health, and to be close to family, Theonilla moved to Grand Forks in 2001. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Keifenheim, Grand Forks; nieces, Kathleen (Thomas) Hill, Grand Forks and Jill (Richard) Nycz, Sandwich, Massachusetts, and a nephew, Jack Keifenheim, Merritt Island, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elvia, Vivian, Godelyn, Murial, and Bernice; an infant brother, Joseph, and nieces, Peggy Keifenheim and Mary Moudry (Larry) Lichter.
