Violet Sivertson

Violet M. Sivertson, 90, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, May 25, 2008 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Violet Mae Smith was born August 27, 1917 in Wheatland, ND the daughter of Frank and Clara (Lindsay) Smith. She was raised and educated in Wheatland, Casselton and Fargo, ND, graduating from Fargo High School in 1935. Violet married Alfred Sivertson on November 5, 1935 in Fargo, ND. They lived in Fargo and Emerado, ND before settling in Grand Forks. Violet worked for American Family Insurance, United Lutheran Church, then as a Diet Clerk for St. Michael's Hospital and later United Hospital. In her retirement, Violet was a volunteer at both the Rehabilitation Hospital and Altru Hospital Gift shops. Violet loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren in sporting and musical events. She liked playing cards and was very devoted to United Lutheran Church. She was also a long time member of the Bethesda Society. Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn Boushee; sons, Gary (Joni) Sivertson and Mark (Deb) Sivertson, all of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Brian Boushee, Carol (Bert) Nesdahl, Cathy (Ron) Nesdahl, Cindy (Gerald) Pariseau, Tina (Rick) Thompson, Tim (Christine) Sivertson, Nicole Sivertson, Justin (Jessica) Sivertson and Mathew Sivertson; Great Grandchildren, Stacy, Candy, Kaylee, Shannon, Stephanie, Joshua, Jeremy, Camdan, Rory, Gillian, Easton, Brandon, Zachary and Taylor; Great Great Grandchildren, Courtney, Austin, Tucker, Kendra and Rylee; half brothers, Gordon (Tillie) Bart, Detroit Lakes, MN and Wally (Carol) Lindsay, Fargo, ND. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents; son, Glenn and sisters, Gladys Vraa and Lilah Bell.
