Vonnie M. Davis, 93, Grand Forks died Thursday, April 24, 2008 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center. Vonnie Marie McBride was born to Homer and Charlotte (Ford) McBride on April 1, 1915 at Bottineau, North Dakota. Vonnie spent her early years in Rugby, North Dakota until moving with her family to Grand Forks in 1930. She graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1934. Vonnie married Joe Bach in 1935. They made their home in Grand Forks. Joe died in 1954. She began working as a periodicals librarian for the Chester Fritz Library at UND, a position she held for 9 years. Vonnie and Roy Davis were married on December 30, 1962 in Grand Forks. They lived in Grand Forks, and spent many winters in Apache Wells, Arizona. She enjoyed oil painting, knitting, and playing bridge. Vonnie is survived by a son, Joe (Dorothy) Bach, Cosmopolis, Washington; a grandson Bradley Bach, and a great-grandson, Bradley, both of Cosmopolis; step-sons, Wayne (Alice) Davis, Grand Forks, and Lyle Davis, Manvel, North Dakota; Step-grandchildren, Chris (Nancy) Davis, Jenny (Brian) Stauss, Jeff Davis, Rachel (John) Davis-Hitchcock, Mary (Pat) Cady, Michael (Kara) Davis, Patrick Davis; step great-grandchildren, Madison Davis, Haley Davis, Katie Stauss, Cameron Davis, Griffin Cady, Marley Cady; sister-in-law, Helen Davis, Anderson, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Joe Bach and Roy Davis; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Vic) Anderson.
