Frances E. Hanson, 82, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at home. Frances E. Tveten was born at Hatton, North Dakota on January 5, 1926 to Torger and Clara (Aaker) Tveten. She attended school at Hatton, North Dakota including Hatton High School. Frances and Curtis G. Hanson were united in marriage on January 28, 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hatton. They moved to Minneapolis, and to Grand Forks in 1955. Frances is survived by her husband, Curtis G. Hanson, Grand Forks; children, Marilyn (Richard) Skavlem, Grand Forks, Bruce (Mary) Hanson, Grand Forks, and Gary (Karen) Hanson, Rochester, Minnesota; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea (Jason) King, Jeffrey Hanson, Amy Beth Hanson, Jonathan (Kristin) Hanson, Catherine Hanson, Michael Hanson. She is preceded in death by her parents, all 8 of her brothers and sisters, a son, Brian, and a granddaughter, Samantha. Frances will be remembered by her family as a tremendous mother, and a very special grandmother. She loved her Lord and her church. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, rosemalling, rock painting, and playing cards. Services: will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1405 S. 9th St., Grand Forks. Visitation: will be for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
