Harris S. Heen

Harris S. Heen, 88, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center. Harris Stanley Heen was born in Lakeville Township, Grand Forks, County on August 8, 1919 to Halfred and Bennia (Johnson) Heen. He attended school in Lakeville Township, and was baptized and confirmed at Middle Grove Lutheran Church. Harris Heen and Marvel Ann Haugen were united in marriage on August 29, 1948 at Middle Grove Lutheran Church by Rev. M.T. Bratrud. They farmed in Blooming Township until 1972 and then moved to Grand Forks. He began employment at First Bank of North Dakota, Grand Forks on November 8, 1972 and retired on May 31, 1983. He was a member of Middle Grove Lutheran Church, and a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served on the board of Valley Memorial Home for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Marvel A. Heen, Grand Forks; an a sister, Bernice Miller, Grand Forks; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Donna Hart and Rudella Sigurdson. Services: will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation: will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment: Middle Grove Lutheran Cemetery
