David H. Schall, 69, Grand Forks, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at home. Dave was born January 16, 1939 in Luxemburg, Iowa, the son of Marcella Lueken and Henry Rausch. Dave lived in Morgan, Minnesota his early years and attended secondary schools in Towner, New Rockford and Jamestown, North Dakota. He attended Jamestown College in Jamestown, North Dakota and North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. David Schall and Elizabeth Skroch were married on May 5, 1960 at Jamestown, North Dakota. Dave worked with Moore Engineering Co., a consulting engineering firm in Fargo, North Dakota. In 1970 Dave joined Baukol Builders Inc., a general contracting firm in Grand Forks, North Dakota and was involved in the construction of commercial, industrial, defense, and medical facilities. Dave's resignation from Baukol Builders, Inc. as secretary-treasurer took place shortly before retirement in March, 2004. Dave had special interests in hunting, fishing and relaxing with family and friends at their Spiritwood Lake home in the City of Spiritwood Lake near Jamestown. He was a member of the General Contractors of America and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Dave is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Skroch Schall, Grand Forks; daughters, Karen (Michael) McLean, McCall, Idaho, and Chris (James) McEnroe, Big Sky, Montana; sons, Daniel (Carmen) Schall, Bozeman, Montana, and David M. (Heather) Schall, Grand Forks, North Dakota; grandchildren, Jamie, Carrie, Anna, Camille, Celinda, Danny, Jordyn, Camryn, Isaac and Elizabeth (Ellie). He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joan and Maryellen; and a brother, Dennis. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 216 Belmont Rd., Grand Forks. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, and for the hour prior to the mass in the church.
