Marie O. Pederson

Marie Ovidia Pederson, 88, of Grand Forks, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Marie was born December 5, 1919, at Holmes City, MN, the daughter of Edward & Ella (Ellingson) Pederson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended schools at Holmes City and Alexandria, MN. Marie was employed 14 years at Herbergers in Alexandria. She moved to Grand Forks, ND, in 1962. There she worked as a buyer and manager of children's wear at the Herbergers store. She retired in 1984. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and served on the council, Martha Circle, and treasurer of the Joy Group. Marie is survived by several cousins in Wisconsin and close friends and caregivers; Jack and Janet Chatt of Grand Forks. **At Marie's request, no funeral services will be held. Marie agreed that, "Death is simply putting out a candle because morning has come." INTERMENT: Kinkaid Cemetery, Alexandria, MN
