Oscar Nsengiyumva, 33, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Thursday, August 28, 2008. Oscar was born in Butare, Rwanda on November 12, 1974. Oscar met and married his wife, Emerlye Bucumi, of Burundi while in a refugee camp in Tanzania. His son, Darcy John Bakizuwabo, and daughter, Iwacu Flavia Nijimbere, were born in Mtendeli Refugee Camp in Tanzania, Africa. Initially Oscar worked as a security guard in the refugee camp. He was a primary teacher in the camp from 2002-2006. Oscar was employed by Simplot in Grand Forks and was proud of that he was able to obtain his driver's license within months of coming to America.
