Dagny V. Capes

Dagny V. Capes, 81, Grand Forks, ND, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks. Dagny V. Enstad was born March 21, 1927 in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Sigurd and Else (Wold) Enstad. She was raised and educated near Pekin, ND, then came to Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. Dagny married Richard "Dick" Capes on November 10, 1946 in Grand Forks. She worked at Armor meat packing plant and J. C. Penney Co. She also taught piano lessons in her home. Dagny was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks where she was involved with Bible studies, served in the Lady's Circle and directed the Women's Ensemble and the senior choir. She also enjoyed quilting, crochet, coffee time with friends and daily Bible devotions. She parented foster children for many years. Dagny is survived by daughter, Carmen Capes, Puposky, MN; sons, Richard (Raenelle) Capes, Grand Forks, David (Barbara) Capes, Bemidji, MN, Bradley (Mary) Capes, St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bob), Angela, Jason (Jen), Jennifer, Janelle, Karissa, Karl, Jon "J.R." and Branden; great grandchildren, Jessica, Aeriel, Samantha, Jayden and Christopher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; sisters, Constance Deehr, Sigfryd Nolan and an infant sister; brothers, Severin Enstad and Luther Enstad and a daughter-in-law, Debra Capes.
