Alda E. Wallace, 78, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008, at Northwood Deaconess Center in Northwood, ND. Alda was born on January 22, 1930, to Willis & Blanche (Herwick) King in Sarles, ND. She was raised and educated in Hannah, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1948. Alda moved to Devils Lake to work for J.C. Penny as an accountant for several years. She married Jack Wallace in Hannah, ND. They raised 2 children. Alda moved to Grand Forks in 1973. She worked as an accountant for GFG, United Hospital, Sears, and most recently Plaza Jewelers. Alda was a longtime member of United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Alda was a past President of the Rebekah's and BPW. She enjoyed curling, golfing, bowling, watching UND sports, watching the Twins & Vikings, enjoyed spending time with her cat, "Molly" and spending time with family. Alda is survived by a daughter Cleo Bachmeier of Grand Forks; son, Greg (Susan) Wallace of Fargo, ND; sister, LaDora (Edwin) Fuehrer of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Sarah (Luis) Fernandez of Winnemucca, NV, Adam (Samantha Renne) Wallace of Bismarck, Jeff (Peggy) McCanna of Houston, TX, John (Erleene) McCanna of West Fargo, Nichole Beecroft of Minnewaukan, Alicia (Ben Golovanoff) Walters of Valley City, Dustin (Kelsy Yoder) Walters of Devils Lake; 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeanne King of Reno, NV, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harvey King &Winton King; granddaughter, Rhonda, and grandson-in-law Tony Beecroft. **In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to: The American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006 MEMORIAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at United Lutheran Church 324 Chestnut St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: The hour prior to the memorial service at the church. INTERMENT: (At a later date) Hannah Cemetery, Hannah, ND.
