Lura E Hulst

Lura E. Hulst, 83, Gilby, ND died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in the Northwood Deaconess Health Center, Northwood, ND Lura was born August 26, 1925, in Forest River, ND. She was the daughter of Christopher and Sara (McBride) Irwin. Lura married Orville Hulst on June 24, 1947, at the Holiness Methodist Church near Ardoch, ND. The couple lived their entire married life on their farm northwest of Gilby, ND. Lura worked with Orville for the ASCS measuring land and bins. Lura was a fantastic cook, and her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by sons, Stephen (Connie) of Inkster, ND, Scott (Janet) of Gilby, ND; daughter Linda Radke (Duane) of Grand Forks, ND, and son-in-law Gary Mapes of West Fargo, ND; sister, Ruth Wilson of Denver, CO; brother-in-law, Don (Rosie) Hulst, of Westminster, CO, and sisters-in-law, Carol Jorissen (Don), Valley City, ND and Darlyne Bode (Arvid), Sauk Rapids, MN, and grandchildren Keith, Robert and Paul Radke, Nicholas Hulst, Mandy Eastman, Brian, Chris, Jeff and Danny Mapes and Tanner, Randi, and Madison Hulst; great-grand children, Cole, Karson, Drew, Spencer, Cooper and Hudson Mapes and Miranda, Ashley, Sam, Jack, and David Radke and Chace Amundson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Sharon Mapes, brothers,Wilmot and Edwin Irwin and sister, Isabel Foley.
