Donna L. Jenson, 87, of Grand Forks, slipped peacefully from this life on Saturday, November 22, at Altru Hospital with her family gathering around her. Adonna Luverne Worman Jenson was born in Grand Forks May 27, 1921, the only child of Harry and Alma Bundt Worman. She attended Washington Elementary School and Grand Forks Central High School, graduating in 1938. She attended Union Commercial Business College in Grand Forks. Donna had worked part time at dime stores until her first "real" job in the office of 906 Service Station and Store. She was a telephone operator for Northwest Bell in Grand Forks 1940-43. After raising her children, she was a sales clerk at R. B. Griffiths 1967-80 and Norbys 1980-85. In August of 1942 with $50 in her pocket Donna took the train west to Washington to marry Donald J. Jenson of Grand Forks, who was stationed at Ft. Lewis and whom she had met while in high school. They were married on August 5, 1942, at Grace Lutheran Church in South Tacoma. Donald passed away on November 18, 1993. Donna was a lifelong resident of Grand Forks, except for a short time during World War II. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church, where she was actively involved as long as her health allowed. She was also a member of the Grand Forks American Legion Auxiliary and of its Past Presidents Parley. Donna dearly loved her family and was deeply loved and respected in return. Her survivors include Donald Jenson, Jr., and wife Ginny; Rev. Janice Jenson Wukits and husband Fred; Debra Penas and husband Harold; 5 grandchildren Kim Jenson, Monique Jenson, Jennifer (Penas) Stansbury, Katherine (Penas) Bina, and Elizabeth Penas; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents Harry and Alma Worman, and her in-laws.
