Glenn R. Berg, 91, of Grand Forks, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. Glenn was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and received his last rites of the church before he passed away. Glenn was born on March 19, 1917, in Grand Forks, the son of John G. & Clara C. (Johnson) Berg. Glenn attended grade school in Round Prairie Township near Williston, ND, and later in Brenna Township. In September of 1942, he was inducted to General Automobile Mechanics School at Fort Ord in Stockton, CA, and later to the ETO in England. He was honorably discharged in Jan. of 1946, and returned to Grand Forks, to farm with his father and several area farmers as a farm laborer. Glenn was a member of the Evanger Lutheran Church and served as a custodian of the church for many years. He also held several Township offices. Glenn will always be remembered as a quiet, but sociable person, who loved his friends, relatives, and neighbors. He is survived by a sister Lila B. Sorensen of Grand Forks, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Vernon & Milton Berg. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND.
