Roland Hart Sr.

Roland E. "Ed" Hart, Sr., 81, Grand Forks, ND died Friday, December 26, 2008 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Ed was born January 3, 1927 in Ardoch, ND the son of Roland M. and Mary (Coffey) Hart. He was raised and educated in Ardoch and graduated high school at Forest River, ND. He entered the US Army in 1945 and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre and in Germany. After the war, he worked as a truck driver for several companies in Grand Forks. Ed married Ardyce Mae Frederick on July 23, 1966 in Grand Forks. Ed worked as a Service Terminal Manager for trucking companies in both Minot, ND and Crookston, MN. He later returned to Grand Forks, ND where he worked for several trucking companies including Hart Trucking and Lewis Truck Lines. He retired in 1983 due to a stroke. Ed enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and visiting with friends . Survivors include his wife, Ardyce, Grand Forks; son Roland E. (Marilyn) Hart, Jr., Lake Elmo, MN and Lawrence Hart, Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Julie (Mel) Clark, East Grand Forks, MN; step-sons, Jeff Rusling, East Grand Forks, MN, Kelly Rusling, Grand Forks, ND; step-daughter, Nancy (Richard) Erickson, Warren, MN; grandchildren, Nicole, Peter, Felicia, Kelly Marie, Ryan, Carlie, Emily and Sophia; great grandchildren, Whitney, Chase, Nora and Raymond. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret.
