Ronald Knotts

Ronald F. Knotts, 68, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center. Ronald F. Knotts was born to Ralph and Agnes (Kirby) Knotts on May 10, 1940 at Anderson, Indiana. He was raised and educated at Anderson, graduating from Anderson Senior High School in 1959. He served in the US Air Force from 1960- 1964. Ronald Knotts and Betty Lou Celander were united in marriage on June 6, 1965 at First Church of God in Grand Forks. They resided in Grand Forks where Ronald was employed by BNSF Railroad until he retired in 2002. Betty Lou Knotts died June 4, 2002. Ronald enjoyed bowling with his sons in the Tuesday night Church Bowling League, softball, and fishing. He was a Life Scout. He is survived by sons, Darin (DeeDee) Knotts, and David (Sandi) Knotts, both of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Randi, Ashlee, Taylor, Skyler, and Lily; a brother, Ralph (Betty) Knotts, Anderson, Indiana; sisters, Joyce (Rob) Schwab, and Juanita Silvey, both of Anderson, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Betty Lou. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 in First Church of God, 2856 North Washington St., Grand Forks. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service Friday, January 9, 2009 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, and for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials: The family prefers that memorials be designated to NDAD.
