Eileen G. Anderson, 77, went to her heavenly home on Monday, January 12, 2009, while under Hospice care at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Eileen was born on August 16, 1931, in rural Buxton, ND, the daughter of George & Eliza (Braaten) Gunderson, where she grew up and graduated from Buxton High School in 1949. Eileen worked as a bank teller at First State Bank in Buxton, until she married Garvin Anderson on December 3, 1955, in rural Buxton. They lived in rural Reynolds on the Anderson family farm for close to 50 years. Eileen lived a brief time at Parkwood Place in Grand Forks and then moved to Luther Memorial Home in Mayville where she lived for the last four years. Eileen loved music and started singing at an early age. She sang in church choirs for many years. She was a member of "The Inspirations", a country gospel group, until she moved to Parkwood Place. The highlight of her singing life was to be a part of the Billy Graham Choir in Fargo. She also enjoyed watching Hatton High School sports. She is survived by brothers George (Eileen) Gunderson of Buxton, Richard (Jeanette) Gunderson of Grand Forks; sister, Carole (Allen) Eide of Brainerd, MN; nieces Sandy (Tim) Christian of Grand Forks, Cindi (Jack) Carlson of Brainerd, Joan Peterson of Brainerd, Janna (Jim) Anderson of North Branch, MN, Pamela (Claude) Mullins of Lufkin, Texas; nephews, Byron (Laurie) Anderson of East Grand Forks, MN, Mike Zelinski of Homer, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Garvin, and a sister, Miriam Zelinski.
