Lena Ingeborg Diseth, 94, of Grand Forks, passed away on January 19th, 2009 at 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village. Lena I. Diseth was born December 29, 1914 near Edmore, ND, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Adsem) Diseth. Lena left high school after her 1st or 2nd year and then worked for Beamers Café in Edmore. She moved to Grand Forks and worked at the Uptown Café for about 8 years. She also worked at the Deaconess Hospital then St. Mike's Hospital in the laundry. She worked at the new hospital for about a year and then retired. She also spent a lot of her free time taking care of her in home mother and dad and her brothers when they needed help, not to mention her in home son also. Lena came to Tufte Manor to live in August of 2003 and then moved to Valley 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village Oakcrest wing in Sept. of 2006. She enjoyed playing bingo there and also the sing-a-longs and dances they had. She was senior prom queen in 2007 which delighted her. I would like to thank all the careworkers who helped my mom in her later years. You are truly God's gift to humanity. She is survived by a son, David of Grand Forks; a sister, Danielle Conway of Warher Robbins, Georgia; 9 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin, Ernest, Casper, Edward and Ronald Diseth; sister, Arline Justice. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Augustana Lutheran Church 520 University Ave. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral service at the church. INTERMENT: Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks, ND.
