Nora Gregoire

Nora "Norie" Gregoire, 91, (almost 92) Grand Forks, ND died Monday, March 2, 2009 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Nora Gertrude Erdman was born September 27, 1917 near Willow City, ND the 3rd of 4 children born to Otto and Emma (Voigt) Erdman. She graduated from Willow City High School in 1935 and attended Minot State Teacher's College. She taught school for several years near Gardena, Lakota and Forest River, ND before coming to Grand Forks where she was employed by the Red River National Bank. Nora married Wesley Gregoire on February 17, 1947 in St. Michael's Catholic Church of Grand Forks. They lived and farmed in Walle Township of Grand Forks County. Wesley died May 27, 1969. In 1967, Nora began working for Norby's Department Store. She worked there until her retirement in 1982. Nora enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, going for Sunday drives, having lunch with the Norby's group, playing cards and listening to the weather reports. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son, James of Williston, ND; daughters, Carol (Scott) Sawyer, Madison, WI, and Linda (Mark) Ziegelmann, Grand Forks; seven grandchildren: Jodi (Bob) Johnson, Missoula, MT, Joel Sawyer, St. Paul, MN, Ben Ziegelmann, Fargo, ND, Kelly Ziegelmann, Grand Forks, ND, Josh Gregoire, Williston, ND, Joe Gregoire, Fargo, ND and Jordan Gregoire, Grand Forks, ND; two great grandchildren: Jack and Bridger Johnson, Missoula, MT; and a sister, Ines Murray, Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and by brothers, Laurence and Walter Erdman.
