Sonja Judy Lovegren

Sonja J. Lovegren, 68, of Grand Forks, passed away on March 20, 2009, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Sonja was born on January 15th, 1941, in Hibbing, MN, the daughter of Eino & Sylvia (Itkonen) Frand, where she grew up and attended school. Sonja worked various positions in the healthcare system over the years, and raised 2 daughters. Sonja married Donald C. Lovegren on May 21, 1989, in Grand Forks, ND. Sonja was a Worthy Matron of Acacia Chapter #12. Sonja is survived by her husband, Donald Lovegren; daughters, Cynthia (John) Manzoline of Peoria, AZ, Rebecca (Jonathan) Carlson of Shakopee, MN; brother, Fred (Phyllis) Frand of Hibbing, MN; sister-in-law, Lorri Frand of Hibbing, MN; sisters, Eva (James) Porter of Sun City, AZ, Shirley Hartmann of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Brittany, Nathaniel, Zachary, and Noah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sonja was preceded in death by her parents, and 4 brothers, Carl, George, Kenneth, and Martin. ** Memorial contributions may be made to the United Lutheran Church Radio Ministry, c/o United Lutheran Church. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at United Lutheran Church 324 Chestnut St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: Monday, March 23, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND, the visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church. INTERMENT: (Spring) Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
