Lila Irene Olson

Lila Irene Olson, 80, Grand Forks, ND died at home on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Lila Irene Katainen was born March 31, 1928, the daughter of Sophie (Ojala) and Andrew Katainen of Sebeka, MN. She attended school there and worked at Franklin Transformer and Jean Lange Dress Company in Minneapolis, MN. Lila married Oscar "Jack" Olson on September 28, 1946 in Minneapolis. They moved to Grand Forks, ND in 1951. Jack died January 1, 1999. She is survived by her son Guy and his wife Sherry Olson, Rochester, MN; daughter-in-law Sandy Olson, Maple Grove, MN; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother John Ray and his wife Joyce Katainen, Littleton, CO. Lila was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Bradley Olson; her parents; sisters Hilma Immonen and Linda Sarkela and brothers Ralph and Rudy Katainen. Lila was active in her church and was a mission Belle at the Northlands Rescue Mission. She enjoyed sewing and a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary.
