Ronald R. Lowe, 78, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Saturday, April 4, 2009 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Ronald Ralph Lowe was born to Laura Clarke Lowe and Ralph Lowe on February 9, 1931 at Ogden, Utah. After graduating from high school, he served in the US Air Force from 1948 - 1954 and participated in the Berlin Air Lift during World War II. Ronald and Joyce Raaum were united in marriage in 1954 at Coral Hills, Maryland. Ronald was employed in Civil Service for 24 years, first at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah, and later at Grand Forks Air Force Base serving as Aircraft Electric Shop Foreman. He retired in 1978. Ronald was involved in leadership of Luther League, Boy Scouts, the Ness Lutheran Church Board, and the Ness Fish Fry, and also served as a volunteer with the Salvation Army. He is survived by his wife Joyce; sons Phil Lowe, Emerado, ND and his children, Angie, Jenny and Ryan, Kirk (Katie) Lowe, Walker, MN and their children, Laura, Mackenzie, and Mikaleen, and David Lowe of Glendale, AZ and his son Jordan; One great-grandson, Gabriel; sisters, Irene, and Jeanette, both of Salt Lake City, UT, and Carol, Eugene, OR. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services: will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in Ness Lutheran Church, Rural Mekinock, North Dakota. Visitation: will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be later in the Spring at Ness Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army.
