Carl C. Jessen, 58, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Carl was born on April 16, 1951, in Park Rapids, MN, the son of Elmer & Lucille Jessen. He grew up in the Sebeka, MN, area and graduated from Sebeka High School in 1969. He attended college at Moorhead State where he received a B.S. in Accounting. Carl entered the U.S. Army in 1970-72 where he served as a radio mechanic. He married Elaine Brinkman on May 30, 1982, at Sharon Lutheran in Grand Forks. They had 2 children Danielle and Elizabeth, Carl spent many wonderful hours watching his daughters play soccer and supporting them in their activities. Carl was self employed preparing taxes and an accountant. He was a member of the Red River Lion's Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow award which is the highest achievement a Lion member can receive. He was also a Board member of the Lions Foundation of ND, and Past Treasurer and active member of Sharon Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Carl is survived by his wife Elaine Brinkman; daughters, Danielle & Elizabeth; mother, Lucille Jessen; brothers, Donald (Marilyn), Elmer Jr. (Gail), and Willard (Linda). VISITATION: Friday, April 24, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. MILITARY HONORS: N.D.
