Mildred R. Haugen, 89, of Grand Forks, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009, at Innovis Health Center in Fargo, ND. Mildred was born on April 8, 1920, in Clearbrook, MN, to Olaf & Clara Kroocmo. She grew up and attended schools in the Grand Forks area. She married Palmer Haugen on December 18, 1955, at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. They lived in Mekinock and Grand Forks. Palmer died in 1981. Mildred was a member of Middle Grove Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Mildred is survived by her children, Palmer "Michael" (Debbie) Haugen, Brenda (Kenny) Samdahl, Peter Haugen, Renae (Don) Metzger; grandchildren, Nicole Dahlen, Sara (Mason) Rector, Kirsten Samdahl, Ashley Samdahl, Bradley (Carey) Haugen; great-grandchildren, Benjermin Haugen, Sara Demers; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Palmer; brothers, George, Oscar,and Arthur; sisters, Hannah Kroocmo & Dora Haug; and grandson, Jeremy Haugen. ***Memorial contributions may be directed to: Susan G.
