Alice M. Kresel, 88, 514 N. 7th Street, Grand Forks, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, in 4000 Valley Square - Woodside Village. Alice Margaret Koth was born to Fred and Emma (Kiefat) Koth on September 23, 1920 in Aneta, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Aneta. Alice and Frank Kresel were united in marriage on June 15, 1943, at Holy Trinity Church in Tabor, MN, and moved to Grand Forks in 1947. Mr. Kresel died in June 1986. Alice was a dedicated mother and homemaker who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind, patient and generous woman who enriched and blessed the lives of all who knew her. Alice will also be remembered for her strong spirit and sense of humor, which she shared with everyone. She is survived by her children, Marilyn (James) Riely of Minot, ND, and children, Michael, Kevin, and Lisa; Darlene (Eric) Parker of Grand Forks and their daughter, Cassidy; Dennis (Jennifer) Kresel of Hudson, Wisconsin, and their sons, Matthew and Nicholas; David (Marney) Kresel of Grand Forks and their daughters, Hayley, Andrea, and Rachel; Mark (Gail) Kresel of Grand Forks and daughter, Jessica; Jeanne (Kim) Thibert of Manvel, ND, and children, Nathanial, Allison, Kelsey, and Jacy; 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Lorraine (Claude) Robertson, Grand Forks; sisters-in-law, Rose Johnson, Crookston, MN, Bernice Koth, California, and Marie Koth, Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Richard Frank; sisters Arlene and Myrtle; and brothers, Alfred, Robert, and Lester. Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, May 14, 2009, 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 520 N. 6th St., Grand Forks.
