Kenneth Janes

Kenneth L. Janes, 80, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Kenneth Lyle Janes was born to Donald and Lucille (Olson) Janes on September 6, 1928 in Grand Forks. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks, and a graduate of Central High School. He served in the US Army from September 26, 1946 until his discharge on January 19, 1948. Kenneth Janes and Beverly Skatrud were united in marriage on May 7, 1954 in Grand Forks. Beverly died June 21, 1997. Mr. Janes was employed by Williams Pipeline and later CF Industries. He was a member of the East Grand Forks American Legion Post #157, and he also drove the Senior Citizen Bus. Kenneth is survived by, daughters, Denise (Bryon) Bischoff, Grand Forks, Darcy (Mike) Cribb, Dent, Minnesota; sons, Kip (Penny) Janes, and Kyle (Janelle) Janes, both of Grand Forks; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Donald) Simenson, Grand Forks. He is preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Hassel; and a brother, Vernon Janes. Memorial Services: will be 12:00 noon on Monday, May 25, 2009 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave., Grand Forks. Memorials: are preferred to Augustana Lutheran Church or EGF American Legion Post #157.
