Eunice A. Meuwissen

Eunice A. Meuwissen, 93, of Grand Forks, passed away on June 18, 2009, at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks.. Eunice was born September 23, 1915, to John H. & Anna S. (Anderson) Phelps in Crosby, ND, where she graduated from high school and later graduated from Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND, as a Registered Nurse. Prior to raising her family, she worked as a RN in Minot; Rochester, MN; Plentywood, MT; and several places in North Dakota. Eunice married Herman Meuwissen October 10, 1942, in Crosby, ND. They lived in several places in Montana, Minnesota, and North Dakota, before moving to Grand Forks in the late 1950's. Herman died February 27, 1993. Eunice was a longtime member of United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Eunice is survived by her sons, Paul (Peggy) Meuwissen of Nevada, Bob (Debbie) Meuwissen of Grand Forks; 2 grandsons, Matthew & Mark Meuwissen of Grand Forks; 2 brothers, Jon (Mildred) Phelps of Sun City West, AZ, George Phelps of Irvine, CA, and special canine friend "Pepsi". FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. VISITATION: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Amundsons. INTERMENT: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
