Mildred B Reiten

Mildred B. Reiten, 88, died Friday, June 19th, 2009, due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident. Mildred Berdella Orvik was born April 4, 1921 in Michigan, ND the daughter of Andrew and Ida (Elvik) Orvik. She was confirmed at the Elk Valley Lutheran Church in Bachelors Grove. She grew up in the Niagara area and graduated from High School in Niagara ND. On September 14, 1941, she married Harold Reiten of Petersburg, ND. They lived in Port Orchard, Washington, during WW II. They returned to Petersburg where they resided and raised four children. Millie worked in the post office for several years along side of her husband. She was an active member of the Petersburg Lutheran Church, Petersburg Curling Club and the Petersburg CIVIC Club. Favorite pastimes included spending time at the lake with family, reading and doing handwork. During their retirement years, Millie and Harold spent several winters in Yuma and Mesa, Arizona. She lived the last six years in Grand Forks where she enjoyed several activities in her apartment complex. She met many new friends and enjoyed their company very much. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. Mildred is survived by her four children: Dr. Linda Reiten - Dillon, MT H. James Reiten - Petersburg, ND Pamela (James) Egbert - Duluth, MN Mary (Kurt) Eylands - Grand Forks, ND Grandchildren: Janell (Dale) Kliem, Holly Egbert, Lindsay (Scott)Christiansen, Patricia (Mark) Juffer, Melissa Eylands, and Emily Eylands. Great grandchildren: Kelsey, Kadee, Andrew, Noelle, Abby, and Alexis.
