Oscar Milton Thompson, 79, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare. Oscar was Born September 27, 1929, Traill County, ND, the son of Ole and Anne (Nelson) Thompson. He was raised and educated near Reynolds, ND. Oscar married Ollie Lehman on April 9, 1952 in Brownwood, TX. He served four years in the United States Air Force (1951-1955) achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon discharge, he relocated to California where he worked as an aircraft mechanic from 1955-1960. He made his career as an auto mechanic for a local automobile dealership from 1960-1999. Oscar loved snowmobiling, tinkering on cars, stock car races and spending time with his grandsons. He is survived by his wife, Ollie Thompson, Grand Forks; daughters, Susan Stanley, Grand Forks, Carol (Thomas) Fontaine, Woodbury, MN and Connie Thompson, Maplewood, MN; grandsons, Zachary Stanley, Burnsville, MN, Dustin Opp, Woodbury, MN and Eric Stanley, Tucson, AZ; brother, Clarence Thompson. Oscar was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Arthur Thompson and Olger Thompson; sisters, Thelma Danielson, Gladys Severson, Ollie Sproule and Ida Danielson; grandson, Casey Opp and a son-in-law, Victor Stanley.
