Margaret Kuntz

Margaret Ann Kuntz, 81, of Grand Forks, ND died peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Edgewood Vista Home, East Grand Forks, MN surrounded by her family. Margaret Muri was born to parents Olaf and Olive (Peterson) on March 3, 1928 in Mekinock, ND. At the age of fourteen she moved to Grand Forks, where she attended and graduated from Central High School. She married Edward Kuntz on August 10, 1950 in Grand Forks. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Margaret spent much of her time caring for her eight children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was an inspiration to many with her strong family values. Her family always came first along with her strong faith in God. Watching her family participate in many sports and activities was among her several hobbies which also included gardening, baking and sewing. She passed along many family traditions especially her canning abilities (watermelon pickles), homemade lefse, and the family favorite, potato sausage. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children Larry (June), Grand Forks, ND, Kristi (Jim Bubendorf), Kuntz, East Grand Forks, MN, Karen Heidmann, Champlain, MN, Dan (sue) East Grand Forks, MN, James (Charlene) Grand Forks, ND, Dave (Suzanne), Fort Wayne, IN, Cindy (Scott) Stromme, Grand Forks, ND, Cheri (Todd) Palmiscno, Grand Forks, ND, grandchildren Brian Kuntz, Maxx, Mitch and Jaye Heidmann, Kelly (Rotar) and John Kuntz, Jake and Danny Norkus, Ryan, Derek, Hayley and Caitlin Kuntz, Elizabeth and Ashleigh Kuntz, great-grandchildren Anna and Olivia Rotar, sister Amy Knutson, Iola, WI, and brother Robert Muri, Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Kuntz, Parents, Brothers Richard and Don Muri, and Sisters Eleanor Stadstad and Pauline Peiffle. Mass of Christian Burial: will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 520 N. 5th St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be Friday, July 10 (today) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks and for the hour prior to mass in the church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks.
