Darrell Syverson

Darrell W. Syverson, 64, Reynolds, North Dakota, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Darrell Wayne Syverson was born to Trygve and Johannah (Jerdine) Syverson on March 7, 1945, in Grand Forks. He was raised and educated in Reynolds; he graduated from Northwest School of Agriculture, Crookston, Minnesota, in 1963. Darrell and Yvonne Monson were married in December 31, 1965, at Fertile, Minnesota. They lived in Grand Forks before moving to Reynolds. Darrell was a longtime farmer near Reynolds. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters. In addition to spending time with his family, he also enjoyed relaxing at Maple Lake, restoring cars in his shop with his son, and driving his 1957 Chevrolet, and visiting friends at the hometown coffee shop. He really appreciated his doctors and nurses who became friends in addition to being caregivers. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; a son, Christopher, Reynolds, ND; a daughter, Robin (Jeff) Stamer, Hutchinson, MN; three granddaughters, Michaela, Alyssa, and Marissa; a brother, Truvaine (Carol) Syverson, Aneta, North Dakota; sisters, Joanne (Ron) Rudrud, Lakeville, Minnesota; Twyla Johnson, Burnsville, Minnesota; and Phyllis (Cliff) Knutson, Fergus Falls, Minnesota; mother-in-law, Hazel Monson, Northwood, North Dakota; sisters-in-law, Clara Syverson, Thompson, North Dakota; and Marilyn (Mike) Miller, Sartell, MN; brothers-in-law, Larry (Myrna) Monson; and Clark Monson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orion Syverson; father-in-law, Norman Monson; and brother-in-law, Richard Johnson. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Rural Reynolds, North Dakota. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. and for the hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
