Albertus Kresel

Albertus L. Kresel, 71, Grand Forks, North Dakota died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Albertus Lee Kresel was born to Anton and Mary (Kuzel) Kresel on August 22, 1937 in Grand Forks. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from St. James Academy in Grand Forks. He served in the US Army. Albertus and Caroline Lezon were married on August 4, 1969 at Sisseton, South Dakota. They lived in Grand Forks following their marriage. Al was employed by Wilcox and Malm and later by Eide Motors until his retirement. During his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. Al is survived by his wife, Caroline, Grand Forks; children, Clint (Barb) Uhrich Grand Forks, Mary Ann Austin (Richard), Grand Forks; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Anthony Kresel, Minneapolis, MN, Bernard (Shirley) Kresel, Grand Forks, Dorothy Kuntz, Grand Forks, Lucy Schumacher, Kennewick, Washington, Edna (Vern) Ellenson, Grand Forks, Cora Jean (Dan) Pruiett, Kennewick, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lyle, and a son, Kelle. Mass of Christian Burial: will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 520 N. 6th St., Grand Forks. Visitation: will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks.
