Mona Kozojed

Mona J. Kozojed, 46, Mayville, ND and formerly of Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at home surrounded by her family after a battle with breast cancer that began in April of 2007. Mona Jean Sorlien was born February 13, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Maurice and Janet (Larson) Sorlien. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Red River High School in 1981. Mona graduated from the Wahpeton State School of Science. Mona married Robert "Bob" Kozojed on June 18, 1983 in Grand Forks. She worked for Brady Martz and Associates and Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks before going to work for SRS Seeds in Mayville, ND. Mona and Bob moved to Mayville, ND in 1996. She has worked the past nine years for Minndak Growers of Grand Forks. Family time was especially important to Mona. The Kozojed family loved playing games together. She also loved gardening. Mona is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Melissa and Katrina of Mayville, ND; Her parents, Maurice & Janet Sorlien of Grand Forks, ND; Sister, Amy (Brad) Bail of East Grand Forks, MN; Brother, Lance (Susan) Sorlien of Plainfield, IL; Sister, Stacey Mosbrucker of Scottsdale, AZ; Brother, Jason Sorlien of Lakota, ND; Nieces, Stephanie, Brittany and Madison Sorlien of Plainfield, IL; Nephew, Shane Mosbrucker and Niece Heidi Mosbrucker of Scottsdale, AZ. Mona was preceded in death by grandparents, Lester and Clara Larson, Martin and Luella Sorlien; Uncles, Darrell Sorlien and Maynard Sorlien and Mother-in-Law, Mary Ellen Kozojed.
