Evelyn Lucille Grove

Evelyn L. Grove, 88, formerly of Fargo, ND, died on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Evelyn Lucille Grovom was born on September 1, 1921 at Edinburg, ND, the daughter of Nels G. Grovom and Olena R. (Johansen) Grovom. Evelyn grew up in Park River, ND graduating from Walsh County High School, which is now Park River HS. Evelyn graduated from Mayville State College with a BA in business. She then received her MA degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. Evelyn received her Doctorate in Business Education at the University of ND. Evelyn taught Business Education at Grand Forks Central HS, Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls, MN, then to the University of Minnesota, Duluth and finally to the University of Minnesota, Moorhead, MN where she retired in 1991. Evelyn was a member of Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Delta Pi, Epsilon, and several other business societies and education associations. Evelyn married Clayton J. Grove on September 15, 1973 and they made their home in Fargo, ND. Evelyn moved to Tufte Manor, Grand Forks, ND in September 2002, and to Valley Eldercare in 2005, where she resided at the time of her death. Evelyn is survived by her in-laws, Arthur & Violet Grove, Viola Torkelson, Burnett Grove, Donald & Florence Danielson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dr. Dorothy Grovom, and her husband, Clayton J. Grove. FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral. INTERMENT: Rosendahl Cemetery, Reynolds, ND. The family wishes to thank the staff at Valley Eldercare Center for the kindess and loving care they provided for Evelyn.
