Doris Molvig

Doris Molvig, 89, lifelong resident of Buxton, ND, died Saturday, September 26, 2009, in Sequim, WA at the home of her daughter. Doris was born March 18, 1920 in Hatton, ND to Emil and Anna Berg. She grew up in rural Hatton and Buxton and graduated from Buxton High School. Following high school graduation, she moved with her parents to Ferndale, WA where she lived and worked for several years. On June 1, 1940 she married Alvin Molvig of Buxton in Ferndale, WA. They returned to rural Buxton where they lived until 2005. They had two children. She then moved to Grand Forks for a short time before going to Washington to live with her daughter. Doris is survived by her two children: Joan Whiting, Sequim, WA: Steve Molvig, West Wendover, NV, grandson, Aaron(Linda) Whiting, Port Angeles, WA and three great-grandchildren: Austin, Jason, and Melyssa Whiting of Port Angeles, WA and sister Lillian(Bob)Soranno of Richmond, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: husband Alvin Molvig, brother, Alf Berg: and sisters Ethel Pehrson and Helen Berg. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Buxton or Luther Memorial Home of Mayville.
