Lillian Gilbertson, 99, Grand Forks, died Monday, September 28, 2009 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, with her loving family around her. Lillian Mae Ellenson was born July 31, 1910 to Edwin and Mabel (Hammer) Ellenson in Ross, MN. She grew up and attended schools in Ross, MN. As a young country woman, she worked for various farmers in North Dakota until marrying Henry Gilbertson on November 29, 1930 in Roseau, MN. Later she worked at various jobs with Baukol Builders, Inc., Cox's Bakery (then Charlies Bakery) and for special functions at the Grand Forks Masonic Temple; in addition to being a homemaker, and a mother to six children and a loving grandmother. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela S. (Larry) Moore, Lancaster, CA; and four sons, Robert G. (Yvonne), Grand Forks, Ronald E.G. (Cheryl Joy), Grand Forks, Larry H. (Linda), Lake Ridge, VA, and Darrell L., Grand Forks; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Anderson, Roseau, MN; and a brother, Theodore Ellenson, Ross, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; a daughter, Marilyn (Dolly) Thrall; brothers, Palmer Ellenson, Lloyd Ellenson and Juel Ellenson; a daughter-in law, Charlotte; a grandson, Brad; and a great grandson, Hunter Berry. Funeral Services: 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 1, 2009, in Sharon Lutheran Church, 1720 20th St. S., Grand Forks, ND. Visitation: the hour prior to the funeral service in the church. Interment: Memorial Park South, Grand Forks.
