Gayle Johnson

Gayle J. Johnson, 53, Grand Forks, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Gayle Christianson was born to Arnold and Donna (MacDonald) Christianson on June 21, 1956 in Grafton, North Dakota. She attended school at Cavalier, North Dakota and later graduated as an LPN from Lake Region Technical College at Devils Lake. Gayle was employed as an LPN at the Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Forks for many years. Gayle married John Bartels. He died in 1978. She later married Allyn Johnson. Gayle loved spending time with friends and her family, especially her three grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She had a great love for animals, especially her beloved Toby. Gayle was preceded in death by special friend Dennis Nelson. She is survived by her parents, Arnold and Donna Christianson, Mountain, North Dakota; a daughter, Nicole (Jeremy) Sorteberg, Grand Forks; a son, Dustin (Jill) Johnson, Grand Forks; 3 grandchildren, Kami, Liam, Zachary; a sister, JoAnn (Vern) Flanagan, Fargo; one niece and one nephew. Memorial Services: will be at 10:00 a.m. Wendesday, October 7, 2009 at Sharon Lutheran Church, 1720 S. 20th St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: will be at Mountain Cemetery, Mountain, North Dakota.
