Joseph Krogstad Joseph Krogstad, 93, Grand Forks, North Dakota and formerly of Reynolds, North Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. Joseph was born at Reynolds, North Dakota on October 6, 1916 to Ole and Mathilda (Dahl) Krogstad of Reynolds. He was baptized and confirmed at Stjordalen Lutheran Church, Rural Reynolds. Joe along with his brothers, Oliver and Adolph, farmed with their father in the early years and later the three brothers. He served in the US Army for 18 months, with most of that time spent at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Joe Krogstad and Marjorie Johnson of Reynolds were united in marriage on June 10, 1944. They lived in Reynolds while he worked for Aukie's Service Station until starting to farm with his brothers. Joseph held several church offices as a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Reynolds, and was a member of the school board at the time Central Valley School, Buxton, was built. Joe is survived by his wife, Marjorie; and 3 daughters, Jane (Larry) Holm, Grand Forks, Linda (Steve) Walen, Reynolds, and Lorie (Steve) Grotte, Grand Forks; a brother, Adolph Krogstad, Reynolds; sister-in-law, Jeanette Krogstad, McVille, North Dakota; grandchildren, Mark Holman, Rochelle (Brent) Hanson, Kathryn Holman, Chris (Ioulia) Holm, Nicole (Timothy) Vaughn, Robert (Sarah) Rowland, Brent Walen, Shannon (Stefan) Hofer, Shane Grotte, and Mark Grotte; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary; brother, Oliver; sisters, Mabel and Magna. Memorial Services: will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 in Zion Lutheran Church, Reynolds, North Dakota. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Sunday, October 18, 2009 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, and for the hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: will be in Americus Cemetery, Reynolds. Memorials: in lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorials be designated to Zion Lutheran Church, Reynolds, or a charity of the donor's choice.
