Laura E Larson

Laura E. Larson, 93, of Grand Forks, ND died Monday, October 19, 2009 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Laura E. Duncan was born on October 19, 1916 in Hannah, ND the daughter of Merritt and Margaret (Higgins) Duncan. Laura moved with her family to Wyndmere, ND at the age of two. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at the Methodist Episcopal Church at Wyndmere. She graduated from the Wyndmere High School in 1934. She then attended Valley City State Teachers College and graduated from the University of North Dakota. Laura taught school in Richland, Cavalier and Grand Forks Counties. She married Urban Larson on July 1, 1941 in Munich, ND. They farmed and lived in Hannah, ND and resided in Grand Forks for the last 50 years. Urban passed away in 1986. Laura loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, pets, doing volunteer work, reading and traveling . She also enjoyed farming with her husband Urban. Laura and Urban were charter members of Holy Family Catholic Church. Laura is survived by: Sons: Merritt (Peggy) Larson Lauran(Dianne) Larson Mark (Nina) Larson Daughter: Margaret (Milford) Lager Grandchildren: Laurie Sorenson, Rachel Dorsey, Elizabeth Sillers, Andrea Endicott, Kari Arvig, Kjirstin DuPont, Jennifer Larson, Merritt Larson, II., Krystal Larson and Ashley Larson. 13 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild And many beloved Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Russell,Merritt, Robert; sisters Mary McKechnie and Grace Krein.
