Alice Jeanette Stephens

Alice J. Stephens, 98, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, October 25, 2009 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare Center of Grand Forks, ND. Alice Jeanette Wilson was born April 25, 1911 in Crookston, MN the daughter of Eli and Julie (Borgen) Wilson. She was raised and educated at Crookston and graduated from high school there. Alice married Raphael "Ralph" Stephens on July 24, 1929 in Grand Forks. They lived in St. Cloud, MN before making their home in East Grand Forks, MN. They also loved spending time at their lake home on Maple Lake, MN Alice worked for Dottie Dunn's Hat Shop of Grand Forks. She also enjoyed ceramics and gardening. Survivors include her sisters, Bernice "Bea" Jacobson, Grand Forks, ND and Evelyn Roney, Hinsdale, IL as well as several nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a daughter, Audrey; twin infant sons; her parents and by brothers, Elmer, Floyd and Ray.
